Small Weekend Project

I was thinking out loud yesterday morning........wanting to paint the boys rooms - possibly looking at loft beds so they would have more room in their rooms........and this is what happened!

Logan's Room

Carter's Room

They absolutely love their new rooms.
Both of them spent the remainder of the afternoon
sitting at their desks
and then laying up in their beds.
We now just have to paint!! I'll save that for another weekend......any takers to come help?!?

Mexico 2011 - Dreams Villamagna

It had been a long time coming......Mark and I finally went on a holiday longer than a weekend! And it was fantastic. Loved every minute of it and we can't wait to go again.

The only snag we had, was a delay in our flight going down. But really, the plane was broken and I would much rather wait for a safe plane than take our chances.

We stayed at a place called Dreams Villamagna. As far as I'm concerned, all those hours spent looking for a place to go, was well worth the time. I'm afraid we are totally going to compare everything to this place. The staff was great, the food was good, the grounds were amazing......I could go on and on. I have many - and I mean MANY - pictures to follow. So get comfy and make sure you have nothing to do for the next 10 minutes!!

This was our room.

The view from the entrance to our room.

The view from our deck.

Pretty amazing!

I was given the advice to take pictures of some of the food we were served.....these are just a couple of the many I took.

The first night we were there, the activity was Casino Night. I have never played so much Blackjack in my life!! This is us afterwards just chillin' on the cool furniture.

A big selling feature was this jacuzzi on the balcony. Honestly - we only got in it about three times during the week. It took quite awhile to fill, however it was nice to soak in.

Another 'spec' that I was excited to see was this infinity pool. We were shocked at how cold this pool was though. I think we only ever got up to our knees.

Make a beautiful picture though!!

This is the view back up at the resort from the infinity pool.

Our first adventure was heading off to the little town of Bucerios. We initially thought that we would walk down the beach to the place once we heard it would be about a 1/2 hour walk. Mark went to confirm this with the concierge in the lobby and the guy laughed at Mark that he would even consider that. He said that it was more like a 2 hour walk!! So we played it safe and just took a cab. I had a great time going through the market and dealing with the vendors. We then had some lunch at the local 'FAT BOYS'. I ordered some scallops.......bit of a mistake.....they looked a little shady. We ate some of it anyways. All was good - we never did get any gut rot from them!!

We had a local take our picture.........

He then said that he could do better.

We had a good chuckle when one guy asked us if we were on our Honeymoon. We thought for a second and then said, 'Okay!' He came back with, 'I thought so......she looks happy - he looks tired!' We had a good laugh at that. We then told him that we will be married for 12 years in June and he didn't believe us!
Streets of Bucerios

Markets at Bucerios

We were told that the sunsets down there would be fantastic. I thought they were okay......but now looking back at the pictures they were truly beautiful.

I took many shots like this. Some are good - others were very entertaining.

This is the view at night from our room.
Looking North up the beach. We decided it was equivalent to the Vegas Strip. You look ahead and see another resort and say, 'Lets walk to that one!' 30 minutes later it is still just as far away!
Hanging out in the sun.
You can barely see it in this picture - but there is a pirate ship out there.
(Pictures to come from our Pirate Ship adventure.)

Watching the ship come to the dock.
(We also got up close and personal with some cruise ships.)

The pirates were really good! Very entertaining. One in particular caught my eye and I was sure to keep one on him at all times!!
Funny Stuff!
Meet Doug and Yvonne.
They were a couple we met at the Airport and started getting to know due to our big delay. Turned out they were staying at the same resort. We really did have a lot of fun throughout the week with them.
This is Spider - we was our waiter on the ship and later in the show we found out that he was the hero of the ship! (The dude even jumped off the plank! All us girls were impressed that his makeup didn't even run....he never did tell us what his secret was.)
This was the pirate I had my eye on.......
.....and then finally I called him over for a picture.
Hola Rico!! *sigh*
I saw fireworks afterwards!!!
Mark tried his best to become a pirate after he saw how much I drooled over Rico.......
Every morning we would go for a walk along the beach. This one morning we found this guy washed up on shore. Take a look at those teeth!! YIKES!
Sunset on Mark's birthday.
The hotel even had the maid decorate our room up to celebrate!

This is downtown Puerto Vallarta.
We did a Bandaras Bay Tropical City Tour one day. We were taken downtown Puerto Vallarta, to the markets, went up the mountains to a small town for lunch and then to a tequila factory.

The tour guide told us that the resturant that we were eating at, serves the freshest food he has ever eaten.......Mark ordered the Chicken!! Ha!
This was the seafood platter that the family behind us ordered.

This is now at the tequila facoty. This 'thing' is the distiller. On the right - 250 proof tequila coming out and the other is just condensation. Sure wouldn't want to mix those two up!!
Usually when I hear of tequila my nose wrinkles up. It's going to taste nasty. But these my friend are DELICIOUS!! The three on the right are flavored - we are now kicking ourselves for not buying more!! Another reason to go back.

Sunset from our room.
Throughout the week the waves progressively got larger. This picture doesn't really do it justice - but I'm sure the swells were getting up to 5/6 feet! We even saw guys surfing the last couple days.
Everyday the bars featured two drinks. Friday had the Mexican Flag!!
DELICIOUS!!
Our final night there and my favorite picture from the week!!

Perfect ending to an amazing, worthwhile and much needed holiday.
(Thanks again Mom & Dad for watching the boys - it sounds like you all had a mini holiday as well. Lets book the next one!!)
