Easter Weekend

We had a very busy weekend and a very full house! Parents, both sets of Grandparents, my sister and brother-in-law and new baby Jakzen all fit into our house. We celebrated Easter on Saturday and it confused everyone. The Easter Bunny found the boys and brought enough stuff to last until next year. They were pleased that even Baby Jakzen got a basket with his first tractor and chocolates.
The boys were very excited to meet Jakzen. Keri and Nick weren't planning on coming due to the amount of company that were already here, but they were convinced to take the drive. The boys really surprised me with how much they liked Jakzen. They wanted to hold him and kiss him and were just curious about the little dude. Keri told a cute story on her blog about Logan. Check it out @ www.theblakeneys.blogspot.com Be sure your bladder is empty, you'll laugh out loud!
Here are a few shots of the boys.

Logan's Student lead Conference

Logan's teacher did something kinda fun this year for parent/teacher conferences. She had the kids take charge and lead them. It was a chance for the kids to show their parents what they have learned. Logan took me on a tour of the school, showed me his working binder, taught me a game that they play and showed me how he can spell words on the activity board. I was pretty impressed at the set up and how Logan has excelled this year. We just may have a little smarty pants on our hands.

Logan with Mrs. Dalton
I asked Logan if I could take his picture in his classroom and he wanted to go over to the thermometer that they read and record the temperature everyday.
I can't believe they are now on Easter break. That just means the next time they get a holiday it will be summer holidays and his Kindergarten year is over! I think I need a kleenex.......

Yesturday was Mark's birthday, so we had a little party!

The boys at cake time. Mark had a lot of help.
(Evan, Mark, Logan & Carter)

Nana & Papa were here also!
Again, Mark had help once the presents came out.

We had a good day. But of course because it was Mark's birthday it snowed and snowed! Today it is mostly all gone...better luck next year.

Carter had a field trip to Galaxy movie theater on Friday. He was most excited about the bus ride, but a bit disappointed it only took 3 minutes! They got to sample a small bag of popcorn and a drink. Carter had never been to the theater before so it was more fun for me to watch his face than the previews. He stopped eating the popcorn completely and braced himself with his hands in the arm rests of the seats. We may need to have a family night out at the movies!

On the bus........
Chowing down!
Horton Hears a What???

His little buddy's name was Jack! Hopefully no one knows him who reads this and I won't be put in jail for going against FOIP.

I have to say that I was very fortunate that the boys never went through the dreaded 'WHY' stage. Logan maybe asked why five times one week and that was it. Well they are making up for it now. For some reason they both have found the phrase 'GUESS WHAT'. Everything is 'guess what'. Logan can't tell a story with out saying it at least 10 times. Carter, wanting to be just like his big brother, starts out every sentence with 'guess what'? Seriously, they are going to drive me nuts!!

I am really looking forward to the nice weather coming our way. This means I can get out and start a walking routine. By the sounds of things I am in need of doing something. Logan came in to my bathroom a few weeks ago while I'm sitting on the can. (I get no privacy in this house full of boys.) He was asking me about something, and mid sentence he stops what he is saying and makes this wonderful observation, 'WOW mom, your bum is too big for the toilet, it doesn't fit!' My first reaction was to look.......sure enough it was spilling over the edge! I then responded with, 'get out and close the door!' You gotta love the honesty!

This morning I brought out the Easter decorations. Carter had show and tell at school this morning and had to take something that related to Easter or spring. He picked out a small easter basket and four plastic easter eggs to take. Those five items have not left his sight all day! He had his nap with them and then we walked to get Logan from school and they had to take the trip as well! He now can't wait for the Easter bunny to come and hide all the eggs. Looking forward to it.

We thought the good weather today meant spring was here. The boys played for a few hours outside in the back yard. Their playing consisted of stomping in the puddles, throwing rocks in to the puddles and walking around in the mud.
Love this picture! Both of them were covered in mud!
This would be the proof. They were brand new for about.....20 minutes!

We have a new addition to the family! Nick and Keri had their little boy a few weeks early. Jakzen Richard Ozzie Blakeney. It's a pretty big name for such a little guy. He showed up into this world weighing only 5lbs 7oz and 18" long. He was just about a leap year baby but held out until the 1st of March.

I was heading to Calgary on the weekend to go to a baby shower that Keri's friends were putting on for her. I found it kinda funny that the little dude wanted to attend his own party! There never was a shower.....we'll try again in a couple of weeks.

All my boys hung out together for the weekend while I went to Calgary. They all survived and I think they missed me. Carter was at the day home when I got back, so I went to pick him up and he pretty much jumped into my arms and told me that he missed me. He just may get his nose out of joint with Jakzen here now, I was telling him that Auntie was going to be having a baby and that we would have a new little baby to see. He responded with, 'No, I'm the baby!' It will be fun to see his reaction when he does get to meet him. After holding Jakzen picking up Carter was a little more work!

Carter cracked me up again last night with one of his comments. When I left he had a bit of a runny nose. He still had it when I got back and last night we were on the couch and I noticed he was in need of a kleenex. I asked him were he got the boogies from and he told me Walmart!

Logan is doing well. He had a practise test for the spell-a-thon today at school and he got all 19 letters right! So for all of you that pledged him, get out your money!
