Past Few Weeks.....

Wow! Time flies when kids are busy and I get viral influenza! I have a few pictures to share of what we've been up to!
The boys were playing Uno one night and Carter found a new inventive way to hold his cards. Who needs fingers when you have toes!
We really are needing the weather to get better and get the kids outside! They have been couped up for too long! They had a little jam session for us. Logan with his guitar and Carter was on drums.........a flat cardboard box & wooden spoon. I love these little shows they put on for us.
We missed going to Calgary for Jakzen's 1st Birthday party because of me being sick. We had to go up the following week anyways so we got to have our own little party with him.

Not sure why my pictures of the little devil never turn out as good as Keri and Nick's?!?

I wanted to make Jak a cake, so I looked on line to see if anyone has ever made a Jak-in-the-box cake. It didn't look like it would be all that hard.................
.................but it was!
Mark and I worked on this for 5 hours! I hate it when the picture makes it look easier than it is. I was a bit worried as to how we were going to transport this thing to Calgary. It made the trip with only one small incident, Logan accidentally kicked one of the tops off his hat! Once we got it in the house......that is another story. Not sure what happened but within a couple of hours the head fell off and rolled across the table!
Jak had fun playing with it for a while but really had no interest in eating it. Carter and Keri put a pretty good dint into it the next day!!
After cake time it was bath time for the little guy and then he got to open his presents. The boys made him cards and Jak had more fun eating them than the cake!

Keri and I went out to get a coffee and browsed through Chapters. I found this book and bought it for Jakzen. Logan had this book when he was 1 and i loved it! We read it every night. I still had it memorized. Hopefully Jak will enjoy it just as much.

The purpose of going to Calgary was for Logan to have allergy testing done. I'm glad we had it done, but Mark and I weren't to impressed with the doctor Logan had. He basically told us that his allergies are only going to get worse and that it will most likely turn into asthma as he grows. I'm still having trouble understanding how coming in skin contact with an allergen, is going to effect his nasal passage!?!
Logan is allergic to certain grasses, trees, weeds, molds (inside and out) and horses!
He did really good with the entire process until it was all over. The poor kid started crying and said his tummy hurt. We realized that he was just anxious about everything and had a bit of a let down after the 'poking' was done. He was a very brave guy.
After the appointment we went to Ikea and bought him a new dresser and desk. I think all was forgotten after this!

Later that week Carter had a field trip with his school to the movie theatre. They got to watch the 3D previews that are coming soon. Carter didn't care for the glasses that he had to wear. With wearing his own glasses as well, his little nose didn't have any more room for them!

We also celebrated Mark's birthday! It was a busy Monday with Logan in school, Carter at the day home, Mark and I working, Logan trying out Karate for the first time and fitting in supper and cake.
The boys enjoyed the cake........maybe a bit too much!
The next couple of weeks are going to be busy as well. Mom and Dad were just here for a quick visit and now we have Kelly and Scott and boys coming this weekend.
Giddy-up!
