Logan's first Baseball Game

Tonight was Logan's first baseball game. Not sure if it was a good one. The poor kid came to the bench from being out in the field and we noticed that when he took his hat off he had these bumps that looked like small hives all over his forehead. He was scratching them a bit too. We couldn't figure it out; he had worn that hat before and he has never had a reaction to grass like that - ever. His team was up to bat and then back out to the field. The next time he came to the bench he came right to me and starting crying saying he was hot. The poor kid was soaked! I put a t-shirt underneath his uniform shirt and I guess that was a mistake. It wouldn't allow for any heat to get out. He sat the next inning out and cooled off and drank some water. (We also took the under shirt off.) He then went back out and finished the game. Hopefully once he gets to know these kids a bit better and figures out how to play he will have more fun.

This is is Logan playing second base.

Waiting to bat!
So serious!
They are all so cute! Oops, Logan isn't in this picture

Logan's cheering section! (His friend Elizabeth's family and of course Tooter.)

Boy will be Boys!

With the weather being more like January instead of April the boys have been cooped up in the house for a week. Yesterday we finally felt like spring around here. Late afternoon the boys went outside a rode their bikes on the drive way and in to the back yard. I was sitting at the kitchen table updating my calendars and watched an accident occur. Carter was laying down at the top of the slide face first. Logan was at the bottom of the slide looking up. Logan then grabbed a rock and thought it would be a fun game to 'slide' rocks up and down the slide. Well, the first rock that went up the slide was thrown a bit too hard! Carter ended up getting hit in the eye. I panicked a bit and ran out and brought him in. Too bad he never got hit in the head.....they were both still wearing their bike helmets!! This is a picture of Carter's shiner.

Somethings Wrong with this Picture!

For some reason I wasn't expecting any snow! I don't know what doesn't belong.....tulips and garden hose or snow shovels and snow?!? Only a couple more days and I think we are supposed to warm up. Hope so, Logan has ball on Monday.

Our neighbors house sold the other day as well. Really going to miss them, they have been great to us and the boys. Hopefully the new owners will be good as well.

Jakzen's Baby Shower

Jakzen finally got his party! The little bum was so determined to be here for his party that it needed to be postponed. We had a good time! Keri is very fortunate to have such wonderful friends to have done everything that they did for the shower. I only have a few photos to share. (My camera isn't the greatest......really hoping for a new one for mother's day. HINT HINT)

Here is Jakzen chillin' during his party

Keri opening one of many gifts

No one snuggles as good as mommy!

Jak's post shower pose......it was a rough party!

Cake that I made for the shower. This one did get eaten!

Melnyk's dog

This would be Willy. The best man wheeled him in on a cart. You can't see it that well but he has a ring pillow on his back. The flower girl kept walking over to him during the ceremony giving him doggy treats. (She had M&M's for herself.)

For some reason Willy didn't like me all that much. The night before in Melnyk's room Willy was pacing around and going to everyone for a pat....he never did come to me?!? (Mark told me that he could sense evil!! :-) )

Melnyk's Wedding

Mark and I got away for the weekend and went to the big city of Saskatoon for Melnyk's wedding. Mom and Grandma & Grandpa Spagis took the drive to watch the boys for us.......I think fun was had by all. I'm lucky to have such great family! (Thanks again.) Once we got to Saskatoon and checked into the hotel we called Brian to see what was going on. They were busy with rehersal stuff and then we were to go up to his room and have a visit. It was nice to see everyone, kinda like a mini reunion. We saw people Mark went to college with 10 years ago! We also got to meet Melnyk's dog, Willy. He was the 'ring bearer' in the wedding. I'm trying to get some pictures, none of mine turned out. Here are some picures that I did get.

Andrea and Brian Melnyk

These guys are still trouble.

(Derek Keeler, Brian Melnyk, Mark, Darryl Beatty)

Melnyk was feeling no pain early on into the night!
I have never been anywhere in Saskatchewan except Swift Current and Mankota, so I got a good taste of how flat it is. The drive there surprised me and wasn't all that bad. Mark reassured me to the reason that I was thinking that was that it was just 'new'. He was right......the drive home sucked! Now we are back into the swing of things...school, work and activities.

We had a good weekend! A bit surprised to wake up Saturday morning to see a blanket of snow on the ground. (I am so ready for winter to be gone and summer to arrive.) The good thing was, was that it had all melted by lunch time and we got outside and did some yard work. Mark power raked the lawn and then did a whole lot of raking by hand!! I could see a little bit of green grass under all the brown. One step closer! Sunday pretty much consisted of the same stuff, more yard work and then some shopping for me. Jodi and I went around town looking for a dress for me to wear to a wedding Mark and I are heading to on the 12th. Found one! Of course it is black........no idea why I wear black to weddings. Really like it, it 'hides' everything!

Jodi and Ryan and their boys stayed for supper last night. The best meals are the ones that are thrown together last minute, and that is what we had!

Mark also broke the news to the boys yesterday about Zulu. Logan didn't take it so well. It didn't help that he was really tired. He said going to bed, ' It wasn't supposed to end this way!' I swear that kid is 4 going on 13. Carter on the other hand, he told me this morning as he was sitting on the toilet that the kitty was dead, over and over again. Trust a 3 year old to tell you how it is. Which I think that is what I'm having trouble with.....I don't know what happened to him. I was thinking of going to the SPCA and check if someone picked him up. May head there in the morning when both boys are in school.

It is a beautiful evening and my client cancelled AGAIN, so I think a walk or a bike ride is in order! Maybe a trip to Starbucks????

We had a good time last night on our night out. We went with Ryan and Jodi. For supper we tried a new restaurant that is similar to the Mongoli Grill. GOOD! Had a bit of a laugh.....they had all their meat labeled - beef, chicken, pork - we thought it would be funny to change it to - rat, cat and dog! :-) Funny stuff!

The comedians were really good. Had really sore cheeks when leaving from the laughing. It was a late night though. By the time I got the babysitter home and crawled into bed it was after 11:00. Then Carter had a bit of a coughing fit, so up I got to get him some cough medicine. Then around 4:00 Logan had an even bigger coughing fit, so up again for water and cough medicine for him. Good times! Did not want to get out of bed when the alarm went off. Glad I never work on Fridays!

We have some bad news. We have lost a family member. Zulu has been missing since Tuesday. I let him out when we left to get Logan from school and he hasn't been back since. The boys haven't really said anything to me or even have noticed. Me on the other hand.....I miss him. It's crazy how you can get so attached to animals. Every time I walk into the kitchen I look out the glass doors hoping that he'll be sitting there waiting to be let in. He has disappeared for a couple days before, but he has always come back within 36 hours. The next cat will be an indoor cat, but not for a while.

Carter and I are now off to get him a hair cut. I usually cut the boys hair, but Carter has the worst hair to try and cut. Logan's hair is so thick and curly that it turns out however I screw it up. Carter on the other hand, you can see every little mistake.

We are all still alive......just had a very crazy week. I took a four day course in BodyTalk and wow.....amazing stuff. My brain is going through a little bit of over load.

I can't believe that it is Thursday already. The boys have been well. Kelly, Scott, Brad and Tyler were here on the weekend to play with the boys and Mark. They took in the Leisure Centre and shopped and then played some more here at the house. They all played really good together, I thought with Carter being the youngest he would be out of the loop, but he was a trooper. They even played a game of hide a seek....Carter was 'it' a lot of the time mind you. Logan just liked having older boys around.

We had to get back into a routine with school back in this week. Logan's highlight of his school day yesterday is that he 'took a dump at school all by himself and wiped too!' Just ask me if I'm a proud mama. BOYS!!

Tonight we are going out...kid free! I got Mark tickets to see Harlund Williams Prairie Pancake tour. Should be entertaining.

Looking forward to a quieter weekend catching up with what I never got done last weekend. Hopefully the weather will co-operate and most of the activities can be done outside.
