Look What I Got!!

Logan had his first visit from the tooth fairy last night. He got up this morning and totally forgot to check under his pillow. He some how started talking about money, and realized that he didn't look under his pillow when he woke up. He asked me if I wanted to come and look with him, so off we went! This is what he found.........

He was pretty pumped........he was only expecting a loonie! Hopefully this will give him incentive to pull them out sooner instead of having a loose tooth for seven weeks.

Correction

I need to mention that the school did end up talking with kids in the school yesterday. Logan wasn't a good source! I talked with other parents today and found out that their kids heard and understood what the principle talked about relating to Mr. Fritske. Still, Logan told me today that he is sure that nothing was said to his class. He said that his class left right after the movie so maybe they missed the talk. The Medicine Hat newspaper wrote an article today that the teachers had a talk with the kids about what was happening with Mr. Fritske and then they purposely put on the footage of the inauguration to distract them. We now realized that it totally worked with Logan! (He must get that from his dad!! :o) )

To Close to Home

Medicine Hat got itself put on the map again. The vice principal that was arrested for child pornography works at the school Logan goes to. I guess he hasn't been working or even been around the school since October. A lot of the parents are still shocked that he would be the 'type' to do such a thing. As for me, I got a weird vibe from him. I don't think I would have been comfortable being in a room alone with him. I truly feel for his kids. He has two girls; one that still goes to Ross Glen and the other goes to the middle school up on the hill.
While we were getting supper ready yesterday Mark and I had a talk with Logan to see what they told him at school. I asked him if the teachers talked with all the kids. I clarified and asked if they had all the kids go into the gym. He told me, 'yes, and we watched a movie.........about a man joining the United States.' He was talking about the Inauguration for Obama! The innocence is amazing. I then asked him if the teachers talked about Mr. Fritske. He answered with how they have a new vice principal until Mr. Fritske comes back. I was a bit ticked that they never talked to the kids about the whole situation. We did get a letter from the superintendent explaining the situation, but had no other details than what was on the news. One girl in another grade one class walked into her room and loudly mentioned, 'Mr. Fritske did a really bad thing, he is a really bad man and is going to go to jail!' For that reason alone I wish they would speak to the kids.
On a happier note, Logan finally lost his first tooth! Not sure how he ate, talked or did anything the past couple of days because it was hanging on by a thread! This morning I had him watch in the mirror while moving it around. He finally got it!! He is excited about getting a visit from the tooth fairy. The tooth is sooo tiny, not sure the tooth fairy is going to find it under his pillow. Carter had a bit of a pout going on that he didn't have a tooth for the tooth fairy. It really sucks being the little one!
Check out the toothless smile.
Take my picture too mom!
Missed my little dudes last weekend so I'm really looking forward to a quiet couple of days just hanging out. I'll do my best to take a few more pictures to satisfy the Grandparents!

10 on Tuesday - on Wednesday

1. Not sure why I'm sitting in the living room, by myself, and I'm watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It's a great show and all, but I think I'm a bit advanced. I already know my shapes and numbers and letters.
2. A bit tired today. I volunteered to work the casino last night as a fundraiser for Ross Glen School. I have always thought it would be fun, and it was a good time! Myself and another mom went early to have a drink, have some munchies, chat and to donate our $20 to the school. Turns out our gab session went a little long and we didn't end up having time to hit the slots before our shift started. We found out later that since we were 'working' we were unable to do any gambling. Had we put any money into the machines, we would have caused some huge trouble and the school could have even lost all monies collected! Not a good move for a couple of rookies.
3. I'm always amazed at what comes out of the kids mouths. Logan comes home from school the other day and shows me an art project that they did. His name was on it as well as another boys. Logan told me that the other boy wanted to take the picture home, so he put his name on it. This just wasn't going to happen because as far as Logan was concerned he had done all the illustrations and the other boy did nothing!
4. What is up with this weather?!? Yesterday was feeling like the start of Spring and now it is
-17 with a -26 windchill. Stupid.
5. Carter had a rough day yesterday. He didn't listen the night before when we asked him to clean up some stuff, so as punishment he wasn't able to play any video games the next day. Man that kid can pout! He hasn't put his DS down for more than a few minutes (to eat breakfast and a snack) since he woke up this morning!
6. Am I the only loser that is hooked on the new 90210? Man I suck!
7. Speaking of losers, I think I just may be the only person that starts a health regime, including diet and exercise, that GAINS weight instead of looses it. It is very frustrating. I need to get the inside scoop from the Calgary Biggest Losers! When do we get to see the website by the way?
8. The boys get a weekend without mom this weekend. I'm heading to Calgary to take another course in BodyTalk. I need to get some cleaning done but I'm wondering if there is any point? Love them dearly, but they are messy little creatures......Mark too!
9. Is CSI ever going to be the same without Grissom? Can't see it happening.
10. According to Jeff Foxworthy's Redneck Dictionary:
office - a phrase stating that a male no longer occupies or is in possession of something that belongs to him.
"If he thinks I'm working on Super Bowl Sunday, he's office rocker."

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

The Terrill household is never going to be the same!
We put our Christmas money together and bought a Wii and a Wii Fit. Keri and Nick brought theirs to mom and dads over Christmas and we instantly got hooked. I haven't been able to get an extra controller, so we are a bit limited.
I think my favorite moments last night were making our Mii characters. I laughed and laughed! Mark's character, I must say, is a spitting image.
(The pictures below, unfortunately were taken before we made the final adjustments to our pictures. You are just going to have to come over and play to see the finished products!)

Just in case you didn't notice, 'Mommy' just happened to win both games!!
Tonight we are going to take the boys out to the real bowling alley and go glow bowling. I'll be sure to mention if 'Mommy' wins!!

I need to report a crime!

We finally got a break in the 'deep freeze' last weekend and the boys got to go outside and play! YIPPEE!
We actually have about a foot and a half of snow in our back yard. Unfortunately it really isn't the snowman making snow, but none the less the boys had fun building them. I supplied the eyes and noses - chocolate dipping wafers and carrots.
On Monday, when I was standing at the kitchen sink washing my hands to start making supper, I made a startling discovery!
We had a thief in our back yard!

Here is the guys mug shot.
I called the boys to come and have a look at their snowmen. They just started laughing and yelled, 'The bunny ate the noses!'
I'm pretty sure we have the best fed bunny in the city. Since then, I thought the little guy was starving being able to smell out the carrots, that I have taken out some lettuce. With in hours that was gone as well. Poor dudes little home under the shed just may flood once all the snow melts............I wonder what Hemi would think of the bunny?

Boxing Day - Should have been part of Christmas '08

On boxing day we hung out with the Terrill Crew. All 10 grand kids got together and had a blast tobogganing.
The big Terrill boys had some fun as well with the kids.

You have to look close, but there are six kids on this sled!
Logan and Cade went for a ride together and Cade just happened to stop the ride with his face! Tough little kid! He was up and down that hill more times than some of the older ones.

Makenna and Bree just hanging out in a snow bank!

And then there was Carter...........off all by himself playing in the snow.

If only we could give him snow for every meal, I know he would eat then!

Christmas 2008

Hard to believe that another Christmas has come and gone already. I really thought that we would have enough time with everyone in four days.......I think next time we need a couple more.
The visit didn't start out great. I came down with the flu a couple days before we left and then the first night we were at mom and dad's Carter got sick and sick and sick and sick some more. He is the only kid that we know that can scream and throw-up at the same time. He had the entire house awake, except dad, that man could sleep through anything. After that night I have a hard time watching the commercial for premium crackers; the one where crackers fall into bowls of soup. It all looks like puke!
Christmas Eve we started the visiting by going out to Grandma Terrill's house for supper. Love that women! Always love seeing her and the food is amazing. Carter even gave her a lesson on how to play gameboy.
This year was Jakzen's first Christmas. Mom didn't let me down and bought him a 'baby's first Christmas' outfit. Here he is showing off his duds.
Before the presents were ripped into, all three boys posed for a few pictures.
Love this one!
Santa gave the boys some walkie talkie's in there stockings. When we were driving home, Logan and I heard a lady's voice going through Fort Macleod. Only heard it a couple of times and then it didn't happen again so we just thought it was on the radio. On Tuesday, Mark and I heard men talking! I thought they were coming through the monitor. It was kinda humorous to watch Mark walk down the hall quickly to see where it was coming from and then start walking back and then the voices started again, so off down the hall he went again. Logan soon came out of his room from a nap and he was asking where the voices were coming from. Turns out that they were coming from the walkie talkie! The frequency was the same as some workers and we got to listen in. Logan woke up because it was under his bed! Carter, later in the day, talked back to them until we grabbed it and changed the channel. I'm sure they enjoyed listening to a four-year-old say over and over again, 'Hello! Hello? Hello!'

The weather in Creston was crazy! It snowed everyday that we were there. On Christmas afternoon we took the boys, along with Uncle Nick and Grandpa tobogganing. Not sure who had more fun, the boys or Mark and Nick? Carter didn't last all that long, the hill was a big one and the walk back up was pretty exhausting. Sure showed me how out of shape I am! He got it figured out though, he would just fall off half way down the hill so the walk wouldn't be as long!
Grandma & Grandpa Spagis came over to watch the boys and brought the dogs.
Banjo was dressed for the weather!

Mom was REALLY happy to have all of us home and to have Christmas in the new house. Here she is with the son-in-laws.
Jakzen and his daddy!
We had the big turkey dinner on Christmas. I'm still a bit ticked that I never got any left over turkey buns. Really considering making a turkey this weekend and buns just to have turkey buns.
Here's Jak having some turkey!

"I'll take this piece right here!"

Our little angels!

They both had asked Santa for a Nintendo DS. Santa was sure to put those presents at the back of the tree. Logan was starting to get worried when he noticed that most of the presents were opened and no DS yet. For a second I thought he just may cry! But good old Santa came through for them and for the rest of the day this is how we saw them.

Another big hit this year was the Wii that Nick brought down. We have never played before and really had a good time playing and laughing and watching who played who! The feature match for the night would have been Mark against mom boxing. Funny stuff. Carter loved his DS so much he took it with him where ever he went!
He has done this at home here and ended up sitting so long that his feet fell asleep. Have you ever tried walking when your feet are asleep? More funny stuff.

Grandpa Skerik tried keeping an interest in watching Logan play.........he just couldn't do it.

The last day we were in Creston we had the boys baptised. I think this was my favorite day there! The boys were supper cute and did very well. I just wish I could have seen there faces instead of standing behind them. The best would have been to watch Carter go crossed-eyed looking at the drop of water that ended up in his glasses!

Keri dressed up Jak for the day. Cute little bugger.

He just started over Christmas turning his head off to the side like that. He must get a better look with his head on a tilt.

And here's me with the little dude. Auntie's are little boys best friends..........

Mommy leaves and I introduce some new foods to him. In his left hand is a piece of cucumber and in his right hand, a piece of pineapple! Not a great combo, but he didn't mind.
