New Terrill Toy!

Well now, I'm not sure who to blame for this purchase. When Keri was here she was shopping for a mini van and got us thinking about what vehicle we would be buying next. Then we got the Terrill clan that have been wanting us to get down to Dickie Lake for a number of years now. We decided to take the trip this year and looked into renting a motor home (not the 'Bus' again) and the prices have gone up incredibly! The amount we would have to pay would be about 3 months payment on a truck. So we bought the truck! Mark looked at many trucks and for the shape that this one was in and how much newer it was, we decided to get it. I thought at one point Mark was going to pee his pants with excitement..........or it could have been nerves. We had a couple hours of running around getting insurance, registration and cleaning supplies afterwards. I have three boys very excited about a truck being parked in the drive way!
Mark had two little boys walking right behind him and had to go for a drive every 15 minutes!
Today with it being soooo hat we decided to take the boys out to Echo Dale and let them swim. (Of course we had to take the truck!) Carter took a bit to get into the water but had no trouble sunning himself!

We also headed over to the farm down there. They had three little calves that the boys could pet, a big horse, baby bunnies and baby pigs. I guess those would be piglets. There were lambs and goats everywhere too.

Once we got home a much needed nap was had by all boys. That sun really packs a punch! Lucky me got to study.....BodyTalk exam is 11 days away. :o)

Sport Wind-ups!

Our first year (8 weeks!) of the boys in sports is already over! I thought it would be crazy running around from place to place but it worked out really good. Mark was the baseball dad most of the time and I was the soccer mom. Never thought I would classify myself as that. The boys had fun......I think Carter enjoyed soccer more so than Logan did ball. They both improved which was really fun to see. We have already been asked if they can play hockey! YIKES!!
On Carter's last night, they played a short game and then they got to have hot dogs, juice and cotton candy. They also got a ribbon from their coach saying there were 'super soccer players'. During the game I think Carter got three goals. He also liked to run around watching his shadow. Funniest thing you ever saw! Here is is jumping for joy that they scored a goal!

This is Logan eating Carter's hot dog and him drinking his juice!
This is his coach.

Shaking hands on a good season and giving out the ribbon.

Logan's last night of ball was on the same night.

After the game the kids like to run the bases and get timed. For the last time the younger brothers and sisters got to run with their brothers. Logan won!

Carter's 4th Birthday

HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY TOOTER!
We had a very busy couple of weeks. Carter's birthday was the start of it all! Keri and Jakzen made the trip down from Calgary for the weekend. Had a good visit and the boys really enjoyed fussing over Jak. The little dude hasn't let out one of those great belly laughs yet, but he was very close when I was playing with him. The next time we see him he'll be doing it for sure.
Logan had ball on the night of the 19th so after supper I had cupcakes for Carter's cake. I had no complaints, they still went down quickly.....and just as messy.

This picture is the best! 'Yeah.........I'm four now!' Big whoop!

Friday night we had the actually 'birthday party'. Carter asked for a Diego cake so I made it for him. Never again will I be making a Diego cake. I have already warned Jak.

Carter really liked it though....so it was worth it.

During the present time Jakzen came out and lounged! Could care less about what Carter got. That is sure to change in the years to come.

Here Carter is taking a closer look at the cool sprinkler that Auntie Keri & Uncle Nick got him. When the water is on, balls shoot out of the green tube Carter is peering into. Had a lot of fun with it on Saturday.

Mark & I were not sure what to get the dude for a gift. I came upon this item and thought it would be perfect. Here is Carter playing with it after Daddy helped set it up.

My baby is growing up!

Happy Father's Day!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

We had a busy day with Daddy! Mark got a wake up call around 7:00am with Logan bringing him the paper weight that he made at school. It just about landed on his head! Daddy also got a book, bag of beef jerky and a card from both boys.
The boys wanted to go golfing with their dad so off we went to the par three over by our house. The big surprise was that dad's got to play for free today! We really tried to get the $1000 hole in one but had no luck.
The swings needed a bit of work........but the balls were flying!

Finally some sunshine.
They all got there eventually..........

Boys & Ball!

I was wanting to sit down and enjoy a quiet morning drinking my coffee, watch a little tivo, read some flyer's and then get to work cleaning the house. Not sure why I looked down.....when I did I saw that Logan had been practising writing his name......on the side of the coffee table.
Carter took Mark to a Father's day tea and then when he got back we went up to the Hospital for x-rays for his hand. This is the year he is going for surgery.
Love this little face!Friday was a lounge night. Carter can really get into the 'lounging'.
Today Logan had his ball tournament. They played at Lion's park and the diamonds had dug outs! It was really cute to see these little kids playing at the big park.
We just about missed his first game. I made the boys some eggs and toast and Mark just happened to look at the calendar and saw that Logan played at 10:00 not 11:00! It was a quick scramble to get them to eat, get dressed and out the door. Listening to other parents down there, we weren't the only ones who thought the game was at 11:00. The first game they played really good! I think it makes a difference that they didn't have a full day already at school. I actually think they won both of there games.........but I didn't keep score!

This was the first time I was around with the camera when Logan got to be the catcher.
Game Over!
All the kids got a trophy! Logan was pretty proud. He came home and put it right beside the other trophy he got at Stampede three years ago.
I'm hoping this will keep his interest in ball. He really can hit the ball.

Weekend at the Chucks

We had a busy weekend! Late nights, bad weather, good company and the Chuckwagons. We have always enjoyed the wagons but now that we know someone on the tour it makes it that much better. Bill and Sharon came up for the weekend. We had a good visit. I got a babysitter for Friday night and the four of us went to the races. IT WAS COLD!! Our butts and feet stayed wet for hours. The rain held out for a while and then a few heats before Codey raced the sky opened up and just poured rain. Those guys had mud all over them! I guess that is all a part of racing. The boys came with us on Saturday night and had a good time. Carter's favorite things were the trick riders (girls that hung off their horses in different positions) and the mascot for the Chucks, Skippy. The boys also really liked hanging out with Codey and Michelle's kids (Colby & Cassie) and Missy's (Mitchell & Ashton). They all played on the wagon again this year and most definitely got dirty in the mud!

This is Skippy!
This is Codey on Sunday racing.
"And there's the horn.........."

With the track being really wet the horses had to get the mud showered off of them after the races. Jerry was giving this horse a drink with the hose. Never seen that before!

Here the kids are under the big truck playing amongst the oat buckets. This kept them busy and out if the way for a while.
The bigger boys got to play up on the wagon and pretended that they were the drivers.
Logan and Colby.
Here is the big tough 'cowboy' that we go to watch and he is sitting in his daughters chair eating supper! I'll be hanging on to this picture........blackmail material.
Before we could leave the boys wanted a poster from Codey. During this autographing session the wise cracks were flying like crazy! Carter even threw in a few!
Fans for life.
Looking forward to next year......hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Small things amuse Small minds!

I did some grocery shopping yesterday and picked up some milk. I find it kinda neat when the best before date correlates with a date that is significant to our lives. In our case it's a double whammy!
