It was our turn to make the trip over Christmas this year back to Creston.
With having a car now instead of a van, we knew space would be an issue so we bought a roof top luggage carrier. To get into the Christmas spirit I also bought the Rudolph nose and antlers for the car. I thought it would be fun for the boys - okay me too!!
I thought for sure we would look like the Grizwald's driving down the road.
Sadly, the antlers blew off somewhere just before Bow Island.
It is always hectic being back in Creston having to spend time with both families. This year we planned it out to spend a whole day with the Terrill's and a whole day with the Skerik's, and then the third playing and hanging out with everyone.
On the 24th we were with the Terrill's.
We had a big yummy breakfast and soon after we opened presents.
I have always loved the view looking down over the flats from Bill and Sharon's. This morning a low fog was hovering down below. Couldn't resist taking a picture. It is always a favorite for the boys to go down to the farm. Papa just happened to have to head down and feed the cows and do the rest of the chores. So we all headed down with him. The boys each had to take a turn riding with Papa on the tractor. I stood back watching everything that was going on and hung out with this guy for a while. Got Milk? On Christmas Eve we went out to Grandma Terrill's house to have Christmas with the family out there. Here are our handsome boys all decked out. We had a delicious supper and everyone was spoiled with presents. It is always fun to watch the kids interact with one another. They sit back at first, checking each other out and then shortly after they start to play. The excitement of kids on Christmas morning is always fun to watch. They are almost vibrating with anticipation and spend no time at all with one present before grabbing another to open. I realized that I have no pictures of Christmas morning due to videotaping instead! :-( (If only I knew how to put that on the blog!?)
A few weeks before Christmas I had the boys circle things in a couple flyer's that they would like from Santa. Logan, trying to be funny, circled a coffee maker and a vacuum on the front cover of a Walmart flyer. Well, 'Santa' had a bit of a sense of humor this year and courtesy of Great Grandma and Grandpa Spagis, Logan found himself with a vacuum and new coffee maker!! Wasn't sure how he was going to take it, but he seemed to think it was kinda funny. I'm pretty sure next year he will be very careful as to what he circles!!
After showering up and pretty much having to tear the kids fingers off their new DSi XL's, we headed up to the Rec Centre for some tobogganing. The weather was perfect and I thought that the entire town would be out on the hill........but to our surprise we were the only ones. Which was great. It was a great way to spend a couple hours.
We also went to the same hill the next day and Brad, Tyler, Courtney, Makenna, Raya, Auntie Kelly, Uncle Greg, Papa and Grandpa joined us. Grandpa was making me super nervous with his picture taking and moving out of the way just in time before getting shmucked. Unfortunately for Chevy, he was standing behind Dad this one time - Dad moved, Chevy didn't and Carter ran over him! Not sure who was more shocked, Chevy or Carter. Really should have had the video rolling on that one!!
We had a great holiday and it was great to see as much family as we did!!
Here is a bonus picture for Great Grandma and Grandpa Spagis - Logan just couldn't wait to clean up his room with his new vacuum!
NEW YEARS
This year we invited our good friends the Thorpe's over to ring in the New Year. We played games, ate a lot and even had a little to drink. ;-)
